Skalice is an exclave of Frýdek-Místek and does not border the rest of the city. It was first mentioned in 1305 and had 1,545 residents in 2021.

The parish church of St Martin in Skalice is a late Renaissance building dating from 1617. Declared in 2007, the Skalická Morávka National Natural Monument protects the Morávka’s wild, gravel-bearing river course and extends into Skalice’s cadastral area.
